Representative Sharice Davids has joined the New Democrat Coalition in introducing a new Tax Framework focused on delivering practical reforms to support working families, small businesses, and long-term economic growth in Kansas and across the country.

The plan is presented as a clear alternative to the tax proposals recently put forward by former President Trump and Congressional Republicans, which critics say would cut key services like health care and nutrition programs in order to provide tax breaks for the wealthy—while adding trillions to the national debt.

The New Democrat Coalition’s framework prioritizes lowering costs for middle-class families, expanding economic opportunity, and promoting fiscal responsibility. It includes more than 20 policy proposals, such as extending the expanded Child Tax Credit, improving access to work-related tax benefits, and updating the tax code to support lifelong learning. It also proposes tax incentives for research, manufacturing, and small business growth, while rejecting tax policies that disproportionately benefit the wealthiest Americans.

The Coalition argues that responsible tax policy should reduce deficits, invest in American workers, and grow the economy without sacrificing vital programs or increasing the national debt.
