The trial date for Harold “Hank” Stellner initially reported of August 1, has been rescheduled to September 26, and September 27 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Stellner was arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) after he turned himself in for an incident that took place on September 29, 2023.

On October 4, 2023, at the request of the Clay County Sheriff, the KBI initiated an investigation on the September 29 incident. It is believed that Stellner unlawfully struck an inmate. Stellner’s employment was terminated by the Sheriff’s Office shortly after. Trial updates will be reported as they are available to the public.
