Nine Wildcats Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Nine Kansas State track and field athletes were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators.

Four women—Jourdin Edwards, Safhia Hinds, Taylor Mayo, and Tesia Thomas—and five men—Pierson Carlisle, Nate Collier, Tommy Hazen, Emil Uhlin, and Tavon Underwood—were recognized for achievements in both academics and athletics.

Collier, Hazen, and Uhlin received the honor for a second straight year. Uhlin, a biology major with a 4.00 GPA, is eligible for Academic All-America consideration after earning First Team All-America in the decathlon.

Edwards and Hinds both reached the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter hurdles.

Carlisle, Hazen, and Underwood posted personal bests in their respective events this season, while Mayo and Thomas contributed strong results in jumps.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA and rank in the top 50 regionally in an event.
