Noll Sets Kansas Corn Yield Record with 340.39 Bushels per Acre, Sudbeck Wins Inaugural Nitrogen Management Class

Alex Noll of Doniphan County set a new record in the 2024 Kansas Corn Yield Contest with a dryland yield of 340.39 bushels per acre. Traci Noll earned recognition for the top irrigated entry in the state with a yield of 328.98 bushels per acre, also from Doniphan County. The Nolls’ success came amid tough competition, as 23 entries surpassed the 300 bushel per acre mark. Richard Sudbeck of Nemaha County won the inaugural Nitrogen Management Class with a dryland yield of 256.71 bushels per acre.

This new category, added to the state contest this year, encourages innovative fertilizer management for high yields. State and district winners will be honored at the Kansas Corn Symposium on January 30, 2025, at the Salina Hilton Garden Inn. The contest, sponsored by Kansas Corn and K-State Research and Extension, aims to recognize top Kansas corn farmers and improve agricultural practices for greater sustainability.
