Obituary-Leo A. Hasenkamp

Leo August Hasenkamp, 8 months, Washington, died June 22, 2022 at the Washington County Hospital, Washington.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Washington.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 29 at the Washington Christian Church.

Leo was born on October 10, 2021 at Kansas City, KS to Michael and Jordan (Swett) Hasenkamp.  He enjoyed being outdoors, going to the farm to see the goats, chickens and dogs and watching his sister’s softball games.

Leo was a happy boy and always had an easy smile, “our Buddy Boy.”  His laugh was infectious, it made the whole family pause and laugh with him.  He loved being tickled and played with by everyone, but especially mom.

Leo was an early riser most days – a real dairyman like his dad.  He always had a smile for dad in the mornings during breakfast.  He was and is adored by all and his sunny, sweet spirit will be dearly missed until we are all together in Heaven again.

Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Michael Hasenkamp, Sr.; great grandfather, Lonnie Cumming; uncle, JP Beckman; and great-great grandmother, Aggie Sparks.

Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Kate and Lee Rieth, Washington, Laurie Swett, Omaha, NE; great grandparents, Bonnie J. Beckman, Marysville, Ken and Barb Rieth, Washington and Phyllis Cumming, St. Edward, NE; four sisters, Amaya Hasenkamp, Kailee Hasenkamp, Olivia Lewin and Violet Hasenkamp; aunt and uncles, Jacob (Eli) Hasenkamp, Equador, Jacque Hasenkamp, Overland Park and Tanner Swett, Omaha, NE; and many great aunts and uncles.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
