Key observances include Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 13, which highlights the challenges of the 168,000 U.S. women living with advanced breast cancer. Advocates note research often prioritizes early stages, leaving metastatic disease underfunded. Men’s Breast Cancer Awareness Week, held October 17–23, also raises awareness that while rare, the disease affects men too—an estimated 2,800 will be diagnosed in 2025.

To make the month meaningful, experts encourage scheduling mammograms, learning about risks, supporting those living with breast cancer, and donating to reputable organizations, especially those focused on metastatic research.
