Major League Baseball announced that Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler, and Rays third baseman Junior Caminero will serve as World Series Player Correspondents.
Pasquantino took part in Media Day before Game 1 in Toronto. He interviewed players and created content for MLB’s social media. During Shohei Ohtani’s session, Pasquantino asked why Ohtani always throws his hardest pitches at him. Ohtani said it was because Pasquantino is a strong hitter.
Pasquantino has faced some of Ohtani’s fastest pitches, including a 102 mph fastball in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. This season, he set career highs with 32 home runs, 33 doubles, and 113 RBIs.
He will continue covering the World Series between the Dodgers and Blue Jays, while Butler and Caminero handle later games in Los Angeles.
