Prairie Thunder Lands #10 in International Competition of ‘Best Murals of the World’

On January 31st, it was announced that A Mural Movement’s piece, Prairie Thunder, was awarded the #10 spot in a viewer’s choice contest of Best Murals of the World. It was also the only top-50 mural located in the United States. The competition was put on by Street Art Cities. 

Prairie Thunder received 1,614 votes, while the top spot was clenched with 24,600 votes. Nuno miles – The Bull is located in Guarda, Portugal, and depicts a 3D-looking bull leaping from the top level of a barn. Second and third place are located in Spain, while murals from Italy, the United Kingdom, Argentina, the Netherlands, and France also clinched top nine spots.

The mural was completed by artist Christian Stanley of Florida, who also painted downtown Clay Center’s Sunflower State of Mind mural. 

Prairie Thunder features 3,800 square feet on the side of a grain bin, located at the corner of 4th Street and Grant Ave. It was completed in May of 2024.
