The Ranchland Trust of Kansas has opened its 14th annual photography contest, inviting photographers of all ages and experience levels to showcase the beauty of Kansas ranching and open spaces. The contest began May 1 and is open to both amateur and professional photographers.
Participants may submit up to five photos that reflect the trust’s mission of preserving Kansas’ ranching heritage and working landscapes for future generations. Entries should capture the people, seasons, and scenery of life on the ranch.
Submissions will be accepted through September 4, 2025. Photos will be judged by a panel including representatives from the Ranchland Trust of Kansas and the Kansas Livestock Association, along with guest judge Jim Richardson—a Kansas native and acclaimed National Geographic photographer with more than 35 years of experience. Richardson and his wife own the Small World Gallery in Lindsborg, where his work is featured.
Winners will be selected based on creativity, quality, and how well the images reflect Kansas ranch life and landscapes.
