The American Red Cross is facing a potential blood shortage this winter, putting critical patient care at risk. Donors are urged to schedule an appointment as soon as possible, especially those with O, A negative, and B negative blood types.
The supply has been strained after a busy holiday season, with winter weather and packed schedules making it harder to maintain adequate levels. Without immediate donations, doctors may be forced to make difficult decisions about who receives blood transfusions.
Appointments can be made at RedCrossBlood.org, via the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
