Representative Sharice Davids announced her reassignment to the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) and Agriculture Committees for the 119th Congress. Davids has served on the T&I Committee since joining Congress and joined the Agriculture Committee in 2022, following the expansion of Kansas’ Third District to include more rural areas. Her roles on these committees highlight her focus on two key drivers of Kansas’ economy.
Both committees are set to address significant legislation this session. The Agriculture Committee will work on the Farm Bill, which shapes federal agriculture and nutrition policy, impacting urban and rural families across Kansas. The T&I Committee will tackle surface transportation reauthorization, offering opportunities to improve roads, bridges, and transit systems critical to Kansas communities.
Davids has a bipartisan record on these committees. On T&I, she advanced aviation safety and workforce legislation and secured infrastructure investments, hosting Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to highlight local projects. On Agriculture, she facilitated discussions on meatpacking and dairy, led a Farm Bill listening tour, and collaborated with stakeholders, earning recognition as a Friend of the Farm Bureau in 2022.
“I’m proud to represent our diverse and vibrant community, and through these committee assignments, I will work to build an economy that works for everyone in our district,” said Davids. “Infrastructure and agriculture are issues that touch every person in the Kansas Third — the food we eat, the water we drink, the systems that connect us. My goal on these committees is to bring Kansans’ voices, concerns, and successes to my work in Washington.”
