U.S. Representative Tracey Mann voiced his support on the House floor for the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a sweeping legislative package passed by the U.S. House on May 22. In his remarks, Rep. Mann praised the bill as a major step toward restoring “common sense” to Washington under President Trump’s leadership.

Rep. Mann highlighted several key provisions of the bill, including what he called the largest tax cut in American history, expanded investments in border security—such as completing the border wall and increasing detention capacity for violent offenders—and support for American agriculture through strengthened crop insurance and updated reference prices.

“The one big, beautiful Bill Act strengthens our social safety net, while better stewarding the tax dollars of hard working Americans. Americans are generous people, but we cannot allow the government to abuse that generosity. Programs like Medicaid and SNAP were intended for the most vulnerable populations in our country, pregnant women, single parents with kids too young for school, low income Americans, disabled individuals and the elderly,” said Rep. Mann.

The legislation also expands the federal estate tax exemption, which Mann said will save two million family farms over $10 billion. He also applauded funding for upgrades to the FAA’s air traffic control systems.

Rep. Mann defended new work requirements for certain social safety net programs like SNAP and Medicaid, saying able-bodied adults without young children should contribute through employment or community service. He urged the Senate to swiftly pass the measure, calling it essential to ensuring continued economic growth and national security.
