Several Royals prospects are getting extra work in the Arizona Fall League with the Surprise Saguaros. Shortstop Daniel Vazquez has been the top performer, hitting .357 with 11 RBIs and five steals. Catcher Blake Mitchell hit a three-run homer Thursday, showing signs of power after returning from wrist surgery.
On the mound, Dennis Colleran has thrown three scoreless innings with four strikeouts. A.J. Causey has shown good strikeout stuff but has also given up seven runs in 4 2/3 innings. L.P. Langevin has not allowed a hit in two games since coming back from injury.
Hunter Owen and Logan Martin have faced some ups and downs as they build innings before the offseason. Outfielder Carson Roccaforte has impressed with his defense and steady hitting, posting a .294 average and five steals.
Overall, Kansas City’s young players are gaining valuable experience in Arizona.
