Kansas has launched the Safety Corridor Pilot Program to improve traffic safety on four selected stretches of highways.
The five-year initiative includes increased law enforcement, traffic safety education campaigns, low-cost engineering improvements, and emergency response reviews.
Motorists traveling through these safety corridors will encounter new signage stating “Safety Corridor – Increased Enforcement.” The selected corridors were determined based on previous fatal and serious injury crashes, the availability of law enforcement resources, and input from local transportation safety partners.
The program is supported by the Drive To Zero (DTZ) Coalition and will be in effect until 2028.
