With summer travel on the horizon, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. is reminding Kansans that his office offers support for those needing help with federal travel-related issues, including passport applications and documents from the U.S. State Department. Since 2017, the senator’s staff has helped more than 760 Kansans obtain passports for upcoming trips.
As travel picks up, the U.S. State Department encourages all travelers to take the following steps:
- Check passport validity: Many countries require passports to be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
- Know your destination: Visit travel.state.gov/destination to review passport rules, local laws, Travel Advisories, and potential risks.
- Enroll in STEP: Sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program at step.state.gov to get embassy alerts about local conditions during your trip.
All travelers must also have a Real ID for domestic and international flights. Kansans can learn more about Real ID requirements here.
