Small Explosion at Kansas State Fair Food Trailer Injures Multiple People; Investigation Underway

The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Hutchinson Fire Department are investigating a workplace accident involving a small explosion at a food trailer at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. According to the Kansas State Fair, the Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a fire report at a concession trailer on the fairgrounds shortly before 6:30 p.m. The trailer appeared to have experienced a small explosion. The state fire marshal confirmed that multiple people were injured, but none of the injuries were life-threatening. Two injured individuals were transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, while several others with minor injuries declined treatment and transport.
