Smash burger benefit in Belleville Feb. 11

By Jennifer Theurer

The Cornerstone Café in Belleville will be serving a smash burger meal from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. February 11 with all proceeds going to Belleville After School Programs. The café is part of The Main Street Tabernacle Ministry and holds a fundraiser on the second Wednesday of every month.

Tabernacle Pastor Mike Samples said when the smash burger fundraisers started the goal was to support Belleville’s police, firefighters, and medical workers. As time passed, they have also donated smash burger proceeds to the high school for band equipment, the Belleville Public Library, and the senior center.

When the café isn’t smashing burgers, it is open for full breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Mondays. All of the meals have Biblical names and feature breakfast favorites such as pancakes, breakfast tacos, and biscuits and grave.

In March, it will start serving limited breakfast with a side of wifi from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays to offer a connected workspace atmosphere.
