Due to recent delays in heating propane deliveries, Gov. Laura Kelly signed a State of Disaster Emergency proclamation on Dec. 17 for all 105 Kansas counties. The proclamation cites delivery delays affecting residential heating, long lines at fuel terminals, and supply disruptions that require drivers to work additional hours to deliver propane.

The order directs the adjutant general and the director of the Kansas Division of Emergency Management to activate disaster response and recovery efforts under the Kansas Response Plan. It also temporarily suspends regulatory statutes that could hinder or delay timely heating fuel deliveries.

The disaster emergency proclamation remains in effect through Dec. 31, 2025.
