CANCELED: Statewide Silver Alert issued for missing Atchison Woman

ATCHISON – The Atchison Police Department reported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) that 77-year-old Janice Buttron was located and is now safe.

The silver alert is canceled.

EARLIER RELEASE:

ATCHISON – The Atchison Police Department requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Atchison woman.

The whereabouts of 77-year-old Janice Buttron are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate her. Buttron was last seen around 11:00 p.m. on Feb. 25 missing from her home near S 8th Street and Spruce Street in Atchison. Buttron is on foot.

Buttron is a white female who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 135 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing jeans, a long sleeve cream colored t-shirt, smiley face slippers, and wearing glasses. Buttron has a condition impairing memory.
