Former Kansas State guard Serena Sundell will compete for Team USA at the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in Xiong An, China, September 17–21.
Sundell joins Taylor Bigby (TCU), Kaety L’Amoreaux (Fairfield), and Zee Spearman (Tennessee) on the U.S. roster. The United States is in Pool B and will face Mexico (Sept. 17, 9:25 p.m.), Philippines (Sept. 17, 11:55 p.m.), Spain (Sept. 19, 9 p.m.), and Chile (Sept. 19, 11:30 p.m.). The top two teams from each pool advance to bracket play on September 21. All games will stream live on YouTube.com/FIBA3x3.
This summer, Sundell also played in the Youth Nations League in Chile, reached the finals of the Women’s Series in Canada, and competed at the Spokane Hoopfest. She later signed with the Dallas Wings after finishing her K-State career as the program’s all-time assists leader with 811.
