Three Kansas State pitchers were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team Tuesday. Jacob Frost, James Guyette, and Lincoln Sheffield earned recognition for their combined efforts on the field and in the classroom.
Jacob Frost, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, received the honor for the second straight year. He maintained a 3.86 GPA in communication studies and led the team with 75 strikeouts and a 5.97 ERA.
Sophomore James Guyette from Newbury Park, California, posted a 3.56 GPA in criminology, recorded four saves, and ranked third on the team with 51 strikeouts.
Junior Lincoln Sheffield, in his first season at K-State, led the team with a 7-4 record and pitched 74 1/3 innings. He earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors and maintained a 3.79 GPA in management.
K-State finished 32-26 and made the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
