The Coolest Thing Made in Kansas contest started with 28 nominated products. Of those, 12 advanced to the first round by submitting a questionnaire outlining their innovations. A panel of judges reviewed the submissions and ranked the products based on their innovative solutions.
The four products advancing to the innovation finals are:
- Cosmic Soil Moisture Monitor by Radiation Detection Technologies, Manhattan
- Stacker 8500 by Stinger, INC, Burrton
- The Beast Rogue Fire Fighting Tools by Prohoe Manufacturing LLC, Munden
- Command Center Tower on the OutStander Stand-On Mower By Grasshopper Mower, Moundridge
At the Kansas Manufacturing Summit on October 8, the four finalist companies will present their innovations in person. Judges will select the winning product based on its effectiveness in solving a challenge, as well as its impact on the business, employees, and customers.
The contest also includes a People’s Choice category, currently in its final round of voting. The bracket-style tournament allows the public to vote, with the final round closing on Tuesday, October 8, at 7:00 pm CT.
Winners of both categories will be announced on Wednesday, October 9, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita.
