The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office released that on Monday, January 26, at around 5:48 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1500 block of 1400 Avenue in rural Dickinson County. Upon arrival, the residence was fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies found an adult male and a child outside the home. They were informed that a two-year-old boy was missing and may still be inside. After firefighters brought the fire under control, the child was tragically found deceased inside the residence.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the State Fire Marshal are conducting a joint investigation.
