Leavenworth Co., Kan. — On Wednesday, Feb. 23, just before 5 p.m., Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) agents arrested 31-year-old Donald Barden Jr., of Leavenworth, as he was discharged from the University of Kansas Rehabilitation Center.

Barden was transported to the Leavenworth County Jail where he was booked for three counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm. The charges are related to the officer-involved shooting incident that occurred on Feb. 13.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
