van Beek Earns Big 12 Weekly Honor

The Kansas State Wildcats senior Noa van Beek has been named Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Week after her win at the Westbrook Invitational.

Van Beek captured her first collegiate title with a school-record 54-hole score of 14-under 202. She finished one shot ahead of the field after closing the final round with a bogey-free back nine, including birdies on her final two holes. She led the 84-player field with 21 birdies and opened the event with an 8-under 64, tied for the second-lowest round in program history.

Her performance also helped K-State set a team 54-hole record of 837.

The weekly award is new for the conference this season. Teammate Kelsey Chen also earned the honor earlier this spring.

K-State has now won three straight individual tournament titles. The Wildcats return to action March 9-10 at the Yale Invitational West in California.
