A virtual job fair highlighting construction careers will take place on Wednesday, April 9, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Kansas Department of Commerce. Hosted by KansasWorks, the event connects job seekers with employers through the state’s workforce centers. Participants must register in advance.
Lt. Gov. and Commerce Secretary David Toland encouraged those interested in construction careers to take advantage of this opportunity. The fair allows attendees to apply for jobs, chat live, and interview virtually with employers. The portal provides resources such as a job-seeker training video, a list of employers, and registration details. Professional attire is recommended for potential video interviews. Candidates can join using any digital device.
“As we continue on our strong trajectory of economic growth, there has been a corresponding increase in new building construction across the state,” Toland said in the news release. “Many employers are eager to hire hardworking Kansans ready to fill the many open construction roles – and at the same time help build a new and better Kansas.”
Any individual with a disability may request accommodation by contacting their nearest workforce center at (877) 877-509-6757 before the event.
Registration is required to participate in virtual job fairs, regardless of previous participation.
