Washington County High School students recently started offering Tech Tuesdays to give community members a chance to ask questions about smart phones, tablets, and app technology.
Future Business Leaders of America community service lead Jayden Laflen was impressed with the three attendees of their first meeting.
“I know some people are scared to reach out and ask for help or they’re too stubborn,” Laflen said. “So it was definitely nice that they were actually asking questions and wanting to know how to do certain things.”
FLBA President Layla Tholstrup talked about how the students helped.
“One of the things we worked on, it wasn’t an app, but we helped with wallpaper because especially on iPhones, it gets a little complicated and there’s a lot of new things you can do,” she said. “So we taught how to adjust your wallpaper if you want to have multiple photos and stuff like that.”
Taking photos is a major part of the current technology and sharing them with family is important.
FBLA Vice President Alyssa Jueneman said, “We also taught them how to airdrop things because a lot of people do that nowadays and especially with the younger generations like their grandkids, we wanted them to know how to do it.”
If someone missed the first Tech Tuesday, there are more planned for this spring.
“We plan on doing it every Tuesday,” Tholstrup said. “Just really until we think we’ve covered a good amount of things.”
