The Kansas State women’s tennis team picked up its first win of the season Saturday, defeating Tulsa 4-2 at the Billingsley Tennis Center. The victory evened the all-time series at 2-2 and marked K-State’s first win over the Golden Hurricane since 2022.
The Wildcats (1-1) set the tone early by claiming the doubles point for the second straight match. The teams of Sasha Kyselova and Chanel Rustemova, along with Varvara Bernovich and Diana Smolinska, both earned wins to give K-State the early edge.
In singles play, junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav, sophomore Chanel Rustemova and freshman Diana Smolinska each secured three-set victories to clinch the match. Rustemova sealed the win in the No. 6 position after rebounding in the final set.
Kansas State continues play Sunday morning against undefeated Arkansas in Fayetteville.
