Wildcats Eliminated by Nebraska in NCAA Second Round

Kansas State’s volleyball season ended Saturday with a straight-sets loss to top-seeded Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Cornhuskers won 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 to advance to the Regional Semifinals.

K-State (18-10) was led by Aniya Clinton, who finished with seven kills, five digs and three blocks. Brenna Schmidt added five blocks, helping the Wildcats out-block Nebraska 8-5. Setter Ava LeGrand totaled 19 assists and nine digs.

Nebraska (32-0) recorded 43 kills, with Andi Jackson and Harper Murray each finishing with 10. The Huskers committed 18 attack errors, one of their highest totals of the season, but still held control late in each set.

K-State briefly led in the second set before Nebraska closed with a 3-0 run. The Wildcats managed seven kills in the final frame.

Nebraska moves on to face No. 16 seed Kansas on Dec. 12 in Lincoln.
