K-State rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat No. 14 Kansas in five sets Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse, marking its first win over the Jayhawks since 2020. The Wildcats took the match 14-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-23, 15-8.
Behind 93 digs and 11 total blocks, K-State (11-6, 4-5 Big 12) snapped an eight-match losing streak to KU (15-8, 6-3). The Wildcats also handed the Jayhawks their first loss since October 1.
Symone Sims led the defense with a career-high 26 digs, while Jordyn Williams added eight blocks and nine kills. Aniya Clinton posted 16 kills and 14 digs, and setter Ava LeGrand had 33 assists and 15 digs.
The win was K-State’s first over a top-15 opponent since defeating No. 3 Texas in 2023. The Wildcats next face Utah on October 29 in Salt Lake City.
