Wind Cuts Short Prestige, K-State Takes 17th

Kansas State Wildcats men’s golf finished 17th after the final round of The Prestige was canceled Wednesday because of wind at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, California.

Gusts over 30 mph stopped play, and 36-hole scores became official. K-State posted a 23-over par 591.

Senior Alex Lindstrom led the Wildcats, tying for 41st at 4-over par 146. Freshman Oliver Toyer tied for 55th at 6-over par 148, while freshman Ville Virkkala was one shot back in 62nd. Senior JP Roller and sophomore Fionn Dobbin tied for 86th at 10-over par 152.

The separate Prestige Individual event at the Golf Club at Terra Lago completed 54 holes. Senior transfer Shea Harmeson shot 76 in the final round and placed ninth at 8-over par 224. Ben Stoller finished 26th at 16-over par 232.

K-State returns to action March 1-2 at the Colleton River Collegiate in South Carolina.
