With Storms on the Horizon, People Should Have Multiple Ways to Receive Weather Alerts

Clay County, KS-

With severe weather again on the horizon, Clay County Kansas Emergency Manager Pam Kemp reminded residents on Facebook that they should not rely on the outdoor sirens for notifications of severe weather if you are indoors.

Kemp says home owners should have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

Not only can you find the weather radios at any local department store, you can also buy them online.  Weather radios should really be programmed for the area they are going to be used.

Another option available is applications you can download on your phone, and with a variety of different apps available, it’s up to you of which features you want.

And if you are in the Clay County area, the county has a notification system.  All you have to do is go to ClayCountyKansas.org, scroll down to where it says Emergency Notifications, create a log in, and set it up.

Finally, Kemp says that if you haven’t checked your home and business emergency kids, today would be a good day to check things and prepare for the potential storms.
