Bobby Witt Jr. received the Heart & Hustle Award for the second straight season, the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association announced Wednesday. The award honors an active player who shows passion for the game and represents its values. It is voted on by alumni and current players, making it one of Witt’s favorite recognitions.
Witt, 25, has been Kansas City’s nominee each of his four Major League seasons. He joins Hall of Famer Craig Biggio as the only two-time winners. The shortstop continued his strong production in 2025, finishing fourth in American League MVP voting. He led the Majors in hits for the second year in a row with 184 and also topped MLB with 47 doubles.
Witt played 157 games, posting 23 home runs and 38 stolen bases. He also earned Gold Glove, Platinum Glove and Silver Slugger honors during the offseason.
