Witt Wins Second Silver Slugger for Royals

Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. was named the American League Silver Slugger winner at shortstop for the second straight year on Friday. The award, voted on by MLB managers and coaches, honors the top offensive players at each position.

Witt hit .295 with 23 home runs, 38 stolen bases, and an .852 OPS in 2025. The 25-year-old joins Royals greats Salvador Perez, George Brett, and Willie Wilson as the only players in team history to win multiple Silver Sluggers.

His production helped lead Kansas City’s offense, continuing his emergence as one of the game’s most complete players. Witt’s back-to-back Silver Sluggers follow his recent Platinum Glove win, making him one of only a few players to claim both major hitting and fielding honors in the same season.

For the Royals, Witt’s success represents a key step in their long-term rebuild.
