October 10 is World Mental Health Day. World Mental Health Day was first observed on October 10, 1992, when Deputy Secretary General Richard Hunter initiated the event. Initially, until 1994, the day focused on promoting mental health advocacy and public education without a specific theme. In 1994, the first theme was introduced: “Improving the Quality of Mental Health Services throughout the World,” as proposed by Secretary General Eugene Brody.

This year, the World Health Organization focuses on the theme “Mental Health at Work,” emphasizing the important role that workplaces play in promoting mental well-being. Creating a culture that prioritizes mental wellness is essential for both individual employees and the overall success of organizations.
