Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy returned to practice Friday after being evaluated for a possible concussion earlier in the week. The issue was determined to be fluid in his ear, which affected his balance but did not result in a concussion. He participated fully in Friday’s session, taking part in team drills and running several plays, including an end around.
Worthy had missed Wednesday’s practice after hitting his head on a diving catch attempt during Tuesday’s workout. Following a day off Thursday, he was cleared by team and league medical staff and resumed normal activities.
Also at practice, rookie left tackle Josh Simmons continued working with the first-team offense. The former Ohio State standout is returning from a knee injury that ended his college season last fall. The Chiefs plan to keep Simmons in the starting role as he builds consistency at the position.
