Brandon Lee, President/CEO of Union State Bank Makes a Statement Regarding Scam Calls

Clay Center, KS-  Yesterday, September 27th, there was a phone fraud scam happening in Clay Center claiming to be from Union State Bank.  Fraudsters sent text messages and made follow up calls that appeared to come from our local telephone number to trick people into giving out their email, passwords and security question information.  These attacks are well thought out and effective.  Please remember that the bank will NEVER call you to ask for your password or security questions.  We are your community bank.  Feel free to come in and meet us face to face, call us locally and talk to the local banker that you know.

It is important to know that the local Union State Bank has not been breached.  This is an attack by fraudsters to trick you into giving up personal information. Please also know that we have shut off the services to stop future fraud for the time being.  We have ensured that there was no financial loss for our customers.  Union State Bank will do everything in our power to keep your money safe but all we need is the community’s help.
