Skyline Drive Incident

Junction City, KS- Tuesday afternoon the Junction City Police Department and Geary County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance between neighbors on the 800 block of Skyline Drive. Upon arrival, an individual
barricaded himself within their residence and refused lawful orders given by officers on the scene.

At this point, local S.W.A.T. teams were deployed. Following a 4.5-hour long standoff, the barricaded individual gave himself up to officers on the scene without further incident. There were no injuries resulting from this incident and one individual was taken into custody.

At this time officers are still processing the residence as part of the active investigation but there is no longer an ongoing threat to the community. The Junction City Police Department would like to thank the Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Grandview Plaza Police Department, Junction City Fire, and EMS Crews as well as Evergy for their assistance in today’s incident.
