The City of Waterville will hold a public meeting at the Waterville Ambulance Station on Wednesday, January 8th, at 5:30 p.m. concerning a shortage of medical personnel for their ambulance service. Residents of Waterville, Blue Rapids, and surrounding areas that rely on the service are encouraged to attend.
The city has requested a variance with the Kansas Emergency Medical Services Board to operate the ambulance service while not in compliance with the regulation requiring ambulance services to have two certified EMS personnel, or at least one certified EMS provider, and one health care provider in the ambulance while transporting patients.
In order to be accepted for this variance, the city is required to hold a public meeting. The Waterville Ambulance service mainly serves the citizens of Valley Heights USD #498.
