Discover Hidden Treasures: Northeast Kansas’ “Junkin’ Trail Shop Hop” Returns in March

Small shops in Northeast Kansas will hold their annual “Junkin’ Trail Shop Hop” on Friday, March 21st, and Saturday, March 22nd. This unique event brings together local businesses from different towns.

Attendees will have the opportunity to shop in different eclectic, vintage, handmade, and repurpose type stores along the “Trail.”

Clara Reinecke, Shop Owner, and Event Coordinator, said this event started to raise awareness of the different stores.

“We started it basically to kind of tie all of us businesses together that do like repurposing and thrift remakes, and that sort of thing. We started it to kind of raise an awareness of the different groups and kind of established what we call our trail.”

This isn’t just a chance to shop in different towns, but also showcases what small towns in Kansas have to offer.

“We small towns have so much to offer and sometimes, without these kinds of events, people don’t venture out into these little towns and really see what kind of things there are.”

“All of these businesses are in towns that are under 3000 people. So, it’s just a way for us to raise an awareness of some of the unique things that are in these little towns.”
