The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation has announced Shane Shivley as its new Vice President for Development, beginning in mid-March. Shivley brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in philanthropy, higher education advancement, and strategic development.

Most recently, he served as Senior Director of University Development in the President’s Office at Emporia State University. He previously led the Emporia State University Foundation as President and CEO, overseeing comprehensive fundraising efforts and driving significant endowment and asset growth.

During his tenure, Shivley helped close major capital campaigns, secure historic gifts, and expand scholarship funding while strengthening institutional infrastructure. GMCF President and CEO Vern Henricks said Shivley emerged from a strong applicant pool and will help expand the foundation’s development efforts.

In his new role, Shivley will focus on philanthropic partnerships, estate and planned giving strategies, and strengthening donor and advisor relationships across the region.
