Konza Prairie Community Health Center will celebrate a major remodel of its Junction City clinic on September 19, 2024, with a ribbon-cutting and networking event hosted by the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce at 11:30 a.m. Renovations began in January 2024 and included updates to the entrance, pharmacy, medical check-in desk, and expanded office space. The remodel also added dedicated spaces for the Konza Closet and Konza Cupboard Food Pantry, which provide essential items like food, hygiene products, and clothing to patients in need.

CEO Danielle Hallgren emphasized that the growing demand for affordable healthcare has driven the clinic’s expansion. Konza’s mission extends beyond traditional healthcare, integrating social support for patients. The renovation was made possible by a grant from the American Rescue Plan Capital funding.

Founded in 1995, Konza provides comprehensive healthcare services in a medically underserved area, with more than 76,489 low-income residents in the service area. Nearly 12,000 are uninsured and not currently served by a health center.
