UPU Industries, the sole manufacturer of round bale net wrap in the U.S., has ceased operations in Junction City as of December 4, 2024. Founded on December 4, 2003, the company was known for its distinctive red, white, and blue net wrap used on hay bales nationwide.
Suzanne Deegan, Human Resources Manager, confirmed the closure and highlighted the company’s strong ties with military families. At the time of closure, UPU employed 30 people, with only a few still seeking new jobs. Deegan expressed her dedication to helping her team find employment.
Although the Junction City plant has shut down, UPU Industries Ltd., the parent company based in Northern Ireland, will continue to operate and is in talks with distributors to find an alternative manufacturing solution for farmers.
