The Clay Center Community High School Trapshooting Team has announced a unique fundraising initiative that combines fun, community spirit, and a commitment to a great cause. This month, the team is flocking yards with pink flamingos to raise funds for their upcoming season and to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.
This is a great opportunity to fill a family member’s, friend’s, or even local business’s yard with around 25 colorful flamingos, all for a good cause. Esther Varner, Trap Team Assistant Coach, detailed how the fundraiser works.
Varner said that this fundraiser has been approved through the City, so there are no worries about breaking any codes. Funds accepted are cash and check only for this fundraiser. She said that you can contact her by phone or email to get involved.
Varner said they wanted to do something a little different than normal for their fundraiser. Part of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with the rest going towards improvements to their shooting range.
The Clay Center Trapshooting Team invites everyone in the community to join in on the fun while supporting two great causes. Information, including pictures of “Flocked” yards, can be found on the Clay Center Community High School Trap Team Facebook page.
