American Red Cross to Host Blood Drive in Clay Center this Wednesday

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. Approximately 29,000 units of blood, 5,000 units of platelets, and 6,500 units of plasma are needed daily to help those in need according to the American Red Cross.

The dangerous snow and ice conditions that stretched across the nation earlier this year have resulted in more than 25,000 blood and platelet donations being uncollected. The Red Cross needs donors, especially type O and platelet donors.

The Red Cross will host a Blood Drive in Clay Center on Wednesday, March 26th in the high school district gymnasium from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This month donors will receive free A1C testing for diabetes, along with an Amazon Gift Card.

Schedule an appointment online, through your Rapid Pass app, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
