Grab your furry friends and head to the Clay County Animal Rescue and Education Center, (CCARE) this Saturday, December 7th to visit and get a special picture with Santa Paws. Santa will be at CCARE from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
John Rieb Jr., Shelter Manager, explained what attendees and their pets can expect during this fun afternoon.
“We are asking people to bring their pets for a photo with Santa. All these photos will be digitally emailed to folks. We’re going to offer refreshments for pets and their humans, so that way while they’re here waiting, they can mingle and talk with our staff and maybe visit with some of our dogs that we have. We’re also going to be having special drawings for cat and dog stockings filled with a bunch of different goodies. So, it’s going to be a fun-filled day for everybody.”
A suggested donation of $10 is asked with all proceeds going to CCARE to help support their efforts.
CCARE will also host their annual Soup Supper Scramble on Wednesday, December 4th at the United Methodist Church Family Life Center from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. During this free-will donation supper attendees will get to enjoy a variety of soups, along with a special raffle and more. Rieb said to-go containers will also be available for those who want to take their supper home.
Proceeds from both these events go to help CCARE and the animals they care for. Enjoy the holiday season with your family and furry friends, all for a great cause.
