For a third year, Clay Center Public Utilities will be holding the Lights Before Christmas drive through event at the Clay Center Zoo.
The event will take place on December 8th and 9th, from 6pm to 9pm, and feature several stations where families can visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Santa’s Elves, The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and other holiday characters.
Scott Glaves of the Clay Center Public Utilities Commission says the event has already become a local favorite:
Glaves says though the commission is no longer accepting main sponsorships for giveaway bags, anyone who donates to the event will be included on the LBC sign, which is kept up year-round. Submissions are due Friday, December 1st. Fundraising efforts will go towards the construction of a splash pad just inside the zoo.
