The Clay County Animal Rescue and Education Center (CCARE) has been accepted to compete in the ‘Pet Lovers Choice Awards.’ This nationally televised event celebrates shelters and rescue pets from around the nation.

Throughout December, pet owners who have adopted a pet from CCARE are encouraged to submit their pet in the ‘Best Rescue Pet’ contest at PetLoversChoiceAwards.com. While submitting your rescue pet, be sure to select CCARE as your rescue shelter.

You don’t just have to be a pet owner of a CCARE rescue to help. Anyone can vote for their ‘Best Rescue Pet’ on the website; votes for any CCARE rescued pet also help the shelter’s chances.

CCARE has a chance to win many different grant funding awards, with the top award of $20,000 going to the winning shelter. These grant awards would significantly help CCARE continue its important work.

Executive Director John Rieb said they currently have 11 rescues in the contest, but hopes owners of the many CCARE rescues will continue to add to those numbers.
