CCCHS Speech And Debate Nationals Team Finalized, Gearing Up For Des Moines

After competing at the West Kansas National Qualifying Tournament on April 19 and 20, the 2024 Tiger Debate and Forensics National Tournament team was officially announced.

The team includes Savei Nyamapoke in Program Interpretation, Morgan Peters in Worlds School Debate Team, Sam Peters in Big Question Debate, Audrey Reh in Supplemental Impromptu Speaking, and Alessia Carrales in Supplemental Extemp Commentary. Greyson Brandt and Sophia Carrier will serve as the team’s alternates.

Nyamapoke was the team’s most recent addition, qualifying after winning 1st in Program of Oral Interpretation and 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation in the last tournament. Nyamapoke said this will be her 3rd straight year qualifying for Nationals.

CCCHS Speech and Drama Teacher Megan Blackburn said the Speech and Debate Nationals are a life changing experience for those who participate.

This year’s Speech and Debate National Tournament will be held in Des Moines, Iowa.
