CCCHS Tiger Golf Team Competes at Spring Creek Golf Course

The Clay Center Community High School Tiger Golf Team participated in the tournament held at Spring Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. The weather conditions were noted as extremely windy throughout the event.

Among the competing teams, Clay Center secured the third position with a team score of 351. Notable individual performances from the CCCHS Tiger team include:

1. Isaac Pfizenmaier: 45-40=85

2. Jackson Henry: 43-43=86

3. Ian Floersch: 46-43=89

4. Presley Borgerding: 46-45=91

5. Jimmy Gordon: 44-52=96

6. Camden Lebeuf: 41-58=99

The tournament featured various other schools, with Wamego leading with a score of 313, followed by Sabetha with 321. The event provided an opportunity for the teams to compete in challenging conditions and gain valuable experience.

Regarding the performance, Coach Dick Ahlberg stated, “We still have too many bad holes…we have to learn to minimize the damage when we get out of position.” He added, “It was nice to play on a quality 18-hole course…that has hosted a number of State tournaments…and play against a large field of teams.” Coach [Insert Name] highlighted the team’s progress, mentioning, “We made a step forward today, and we are using our depth to be competitive.”

The Clay Center Tiger Golf Team expressed optimism for their upcoming tournaments, aiming to build on their performance and continue to showcase their competitiveness.

Their next tournament is scheduled for Friday, Varsity at Wamego, with further tournaments planned for the following week.
